New £1 Million Fund Launched for Green Apprentices
Region : England, North East, North West, Yorkshire and the Humber, East Midlands, West Midlands, East of England, London, South East, South West.
The Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG) has announced a new £1 million fund to recruit a new generation of green-fingered apprentices to keep England’s parks and green spaces growing.
Budding horticulturists of all ages can apply to one of 47 local authorities for a traineeship scheme that will offer them the opportunity to improve their skills and make the towns and cities of England stay green.
Local councils will be looking for applicants, who can prove their gardening prowess,

Platform 2 opportunity to Volunteer Overseas
Platform 2 is a unique opportunity to volunteer overseas and then come back and share your experiences in your community it's for people who wouldn't otherwise get the opportunity to help in a developing country so it's fully funded by the department for international development.
You could be going to countries such as Ghana, South Africa, Peru, India or Malawi, for 10 weeks placement which will make a real difference to the local community.
When you get back, we'll help you express your experience creatively - through Art,Film,Photography,Blogging - whatever you’re into, you can use it to tell people about your trip and what it's like to live in a developing country.
If you are 18 to 25 (at the time of travel), have / are eligible for a UK Passport, and want to make a difference to people in the developing world, here's your chance.

BBC Blast Work Experience.
This year the Blast programme has been expanded to include a range of work experience opportunities for young people aged 16-22, as follows: Blast Work Placements – 1-4 week placements with the Blast on tour producers working on delivery of the Blast Truck creative learning activities; Blast Reporters – 8 week placements for young people to work alongside reporters at BBC radio stations; and Blast creative traineeship – 7-10 week placement tailored to the individual applicant. These paid placements incorporate events programming and production experience.

Siren FM
Do you fancy working on a community radio station and learning the tricks of the trade – Then this excellent opportunity is for you.
Siren FM is a new community radio station on air 24 hours a day and is looking for people of all ages to come and work with them. The will teach you how to produce, present or if you don’t fancy either of those a there are plenty opportunities behind the scenes.
They are commissioning all sorts of programmes including; schools, students, children and young people, local groups, drama, music, comedy, community journalism, documentaries and community shows – whatever you fancy really, they are looking for ideas and anyone of any age is welcome!
It is voluntary but would be fantastic experience for anyone wanting to work in the media and get some experience or if you just want to have fun.
